Fabulous Friday!

Today is fabulous first of all because it is my dear friend Jess’ birthday. With her birthday comes a night out to my favorite sing-a-long bar, The Tavernacle, followed by a Saturday full of pita burgers, girl time and the viewing of the long awaited Sex and The City. Yeah for birthday fun! Jess is truly an amazing friend and I am glad not only to share in her birthday festivities, but also in her life. Happy birthday girl! I just love ya!

Secondly, today is fabulous because Liz and Brandon will be married today at 5:00. I truly wish them the best on this day as they embark on a new journey and start their lives together! I am looking forward to celebrating such a beautiful union with them tonight in a way only the Sigma Chi’s can!

Thirdly today is fabulous because I got to enjoy lunch with one of my greatest friends, Laura. Her and I have been friends for almost 10 years and although we have gone through many changes during that time, we have always remained wonderful friends. Although we don’t get together as often as I would like, I cherish the times we get to sit down and catch up, especially when it’s over Café Rio. I just adore her!

Lastly, today is fabulous because it means the end of the workweek, and the start of a wonderful weekend full of sunshine, memories and fun! Hope everyone else is having a fabulous Friday as well! Ciao for now!

Unmotivated...

I have been feeling truly unmotivated and uninspired these days, hence the reason why there have been no new blog posts about out trip to Europe. Instead of sitting down and writing about our amazing journey, I decided to take the easy way out and fill out a fun survey. 1) Name a movie that you have seen more than 10 times. 10 Things I Hate About You, Clueless and Anchor Man.

2) Name a movie that you've seen multiple times in the theater. Titanic and 10 Things I Hate About You.

3) Name an actor that would make you more inclined to see a movie. Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell.

4) Name an actor that would make you less likely to see a movie. Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan or any rapper or singer trying their hand in acting.

5) Name a movie that you CAN and DO quote from. Anchor Man, Clueless, and Napoleon Dynamite.

6) Name a movie musical that you know all of the lyrics to all of the songs. Not a huge fan of musicals but I can sing a lot of Disney Movie songs.

7) Name a movie you have been known to sing along with. Disney movies, especially Lion King, Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Hercules!

8) Name a movie that you would recommend everyone see. Crash, it’s one of those movies that gets into your veins and makes you think about life and it’s meaning.

9) Have you ever seen a movie in a drive-in? If so, what? I have been to a few drive in movies but I tend to fall asleep at them. The only one I can remember is Inside Man, which was really good.

10) Name a movie that you keep meaning to see but just haven't yet gotten around to it. P.S. I Love You and the third installment of Pirates of the Caribbean

11) Ever walked out of a movie? Once, followed immediately by a break-up. I don’t know if it was the movie or the relationship but the combination was not good.

12) Name a movie that makes you cry. The Notebook, every time. The Bucket List also got the tears rolling.

13) Popcorn? Yes with extra butter, Sour Patch Kids and a coke!

14) How often do you go to the movies (as opposed to renting them or watching them at home)? I haven’t been to a movie in over a year. I would much rather watch them in bed with my hubby and if you haven’t seen our bedroom TV, well it’s kind of like having our own personal movie theatre.

15) What's the last movie you saw in the theater? I think it was Knocked Up, which wasn’t a great movie to break the streak with.

16) What's your favorite/preferred genre of movie? Romantic Comedy

17) What's the first movie you remember seeing in the theater? Not really sure, I have never been a huge movie buff.

18) What movie do you wish you had never seen? Alexander. WORST MOVIE EVER! I also didn’t get the allure of Sweeney Todd, I thought it was awful.

19) What is the weirdest movie you enjoyed? The movie Todo Sobre Mi Madre was very interesting and strange all at the same time.

20) What is the scariest movie you've seen? The Butterfly Effect. It wasn’t scary as much as it was disturbing but I couldn’t sleep for days after seeing it.

21) What is the funniest movie you've seen? Borat

22) Name new releases that are on your "to see" list: Sex and The City, which I am going to see TOMORROW, P.S. I love you, and Atonement. I am also looking forward to seeing He’s Just Not That Into You when it comes out.

We finally decided it was time to get rid of the lovely green siding on our house and enclose our carport. It's not quite done yet, as it is still in need of some paint, but it may have been one of the best decisions we have ever made. Not only does our house look a million times better without the teenage mutant ninja turtle green eyesore, we are no longer prisoners to our dogs potty schedule. They now have their very own doggie doors, along with a brand new chicken wire fence to keep them in the yard. No more rushing home after work to let them out, standing outside while they do their business or planning our lives in 8-hour blocks. They can go in and out as they please and it’s fabulous!

Although it took the dogs a few days to learn how to use the dog door (Semper was afraid of the it and would just sit outside next to it until Mike or I let him in) they have now fully embraced this new concept. They thinks it’s great that they have full reign of the house, garage and backyard and have learned they can drag one of their many toys through the dog door and play with them outside. I am such a proud mama that they both learned how to use the doors so quickly and I am so glad they love it. It’s nice to know that when summer comes they can spend their time outdoors basking in the sun, which Mekah loves. She likes to lay at the edge of the yard, where she then becomes all squinty eyed and will only come inside if you walk over to her and physically pick her up. It’s adorable!

Now that the dogs can be outside all the time, we knew we needed to invest in some type of bark control for the dogs. Neither of them bark much unless they are outside and can hear the other dogs. So this has become my secret weapon…

The Ultrasonic Outdoor Birdhouse Bark Control emits a pitch humans can’t hear but is annoying to dogs so they quit barking. It works up to 50 feet away, so hopefully it will also work on the neighbor’s pit bull and rottweiler. I feel like a deceptive neighbor and mom but if they don’t bark, it’s worth it!

This is why I love him...

He knows me so well! After a short business trip to California he brought me home a gift of smut, candy and some awesome eye shades complete with ear plugs for our flight next week. What a perfect and thoughtful gift! I am now looking forward to our 16 hour flight. Between Sudoku, some good reads, my I-pod, Tylenol PM and my husband's awesome gifts, I am set!
