A Shower...

Last Saturday with a TON of help from Rachel, Lisa, Caitlin and Kate, I had the honor of throwing our friend Brittney a shower for her and baby boy Neilson. It was really low key, as it was just the girls of Sigma Chi (Mike’s fraternity), but we had a blast! I really love being married to a Sigma Chi because not only do I adore the guys, but also I have become really great friends with their wives. The whole group is really accepting of new people and makes it so easy to be myself around them.

Rachel was gracious enough to let us use her house in Logan for the party and it was perfect! We ate lots of yummy food, laughed, played some funny games and just caught up with each other. It really turned out great and I couldn’t have pulled it off without the help of everyone who came. Thanks ladays for helping ease my anxiety and making this shower for Britt such a success! I had a blast!

Isn't she so cute?!?! Can you believe she is due in a month?

The food was ALL so yummy!

We missed you Annie and Ashley!

On another note, the super cute diaper cake was made by my friend Annie. Isn’t it adorable?!?! She is just starting up her business so if you are ever in need of a fun and unique gift for a baby shower, she is the person to call!

I am beyond ECSTATIC!

Saturday morning one of my dearest friends Aubree got engaged and I am so excited for her! Terence did it right by taking her up in a hot air balloon ride and proposing in the air using a sign on the ground. What a wonderful story and I am so thrilled she has found such an amazing man to share her life with! I stole some pictures from her myspace so I could show you how beautiful their engagement was.

Aubree has been such an amazing friend to me since 7th grade and I absolutely love her face to pieces. I have made so many awesome memories with her, have laughed harder than I ever have before with her and have been blessed to share so many different experiences throughout my life with her. She is one of those friends I couldn't live without and while I don't see her as often as I would like, every time we do see each other it's as if time hasn't passed. That is the test of a true friendship and I have been so lucky to make it through life's changes with her and continue to call her one of my bestest girls.

Hold onto good friends with both hands. Well laday, you know I will be!

Boobrie, I love you so much more than you will ever know and I cannot even begin to express how excited I am that you have found your soul mate because you truly deserve it. You are an amazing, thoughtful, true, pure, loving and hilarious friend and I cannot imagine my life without you in it. I look forward to making more memories together and will always cherish the ones we already have. Whether it's doing 360 degree turns on the freeways, "I need a quesadilla!" nights or just our girls dinners I will always have a special place in my heart for you and the friendship we share. I just love your face and couldn't be more happy for you and T.

Terence, thank you for making my Boobrie such a happy lady. You two are a perfect fit and I am so excited for you to start your lives together. I wish nothing but the best for you both.

XOXOX!

I just love them!

Congrats, congrats, congrats, congrats, CONGRATS!

Happy 60th Ma and Pa Ricci!

This year BOTH Bob and Cathy (Mike’s parents) are turning 60 so we decided we needed to celebrate in a BIG way. All Bob and Cathy wanted for their birthday was a weekend out of town with the entire family since it’s pretty difficult to get us all together with how busy we all are and with Steven living in Denver. So, for Labor Day Steven hopped on his motorcycle and the rest of us piled in the family van and drove to Glenwood Hot Springs, Colorado for a weekend full of family time and fun!

I almost didn’t make it on the trip because for the entire week prior I was having sporadic severe and disabling abdominal pain that was making me incredibly nauseous, causing chills and convulsions and was unlike any other pain I had ever experienced. Luckily I have such a wonderful family that made me as comfortable as I could be. I just brought a bunch of pillows, lots of pain pills, some DVD’s and a heat pack and the drive was just as good as being in bed would have been! Plus, I was still able to be with the family on this fun trip.

We had a great time relaxing at the Glenwood Hot Springs Pool, playing games in our hotel room, finding fun local restaurants to enjoy, exploring caverns and caves, eating ice-cream, roller coaster rides, witty banter and learning new sides of each other (like Cathy and Bob learning that when my throat itches I sound like a duck choking on a Jolley Rancher). It was a very wonderful weekend getaway and we were so glad we were able to help Cathy and Bob start their sixties with love and family. We really had a fabulous time and are looking forward to the next family getaway. Happy birthday to you both! We love ya!
