Yesterday I came home to this...

a gift from my amazingly fabulous friend Chris who introduced us to New Orleans and who we are traveling with next week. Nothing gets me in NOLA and Carnival mood like yummy treats and edible glitter from Sucre!!! Love you Chris!!! GLITTER FIGHT :)

Mardi Gras Macaroons. Seriously to die for! Aren't they gorgeous?!?King Cake. The King Cake is a Mardi Gras tradition in which a small plastic baby is hidden within the cake and whoever finds it is said to have good luck for the following year! I wish this picture showed the glitter on the cake better because the cake is actually incredibly sparkly.and Carnival Chocolates! These chocolates are to die for and isn't the detail amazing?

It's things like this that make me love New Orleans. The city is so full of life and tradition and it's so fun to be a part of it all. Can't wait to be in the thick of it cheering on the Saints and experiencing the Carnival season next weekend!!!

New Orleans here we come again!

Since the Saints are one win away from going to the Superbowl and airfare down to NOLA is super cheap right now, we decided to spend Superbowl weekend in the Who Dat nation! We have been craving a trip to New Orleans for a while and what better excuse then The Saint's impending trip to the biggest game of the year?!?! We can’t wait to be back down enjoying all that this wonderful city has to offer and hopefully cheering on this amazing team! Either way, we can’t wait to spend some time together with some dear friends in a place we love and I can’t wait for this getaway with Mah Be. If you feel inclined though, some crossed fingers for a Vikings loss this weekend would be greatly appreciated. :)

My fortune...

"Your path may be difficult, but will be rewarding."

While at my TSP group the other night, I received this fortune and it really resonated with me and I decided it should be my mantra for the year. Lately I have been having a tough time with multiple things and so every time I read it, it reminds me that while I might be having a difficult time right now, things will eventually get better and the reward will be greater because of the hardships I am currently facing.
