I adore this little guy...

One of the perks of my recent unemployment is how much time I get to spend with this little guy. Today Aubree had an appointment so Ky and I went on an adventure to Tai Pan, Rod Works, Hobby Lobby and McDonalds. Apparently I wore him out because when we got home, he crawled up on me and fell asleep. Nothing can melt my heart more than kisses, hugs and cuddles from this little guy. Aubree came back just in time to document this tender moment and I am sure it's a picture I am going to cherish for the rest of my life.

Thanks Aubree for letting me steal your baby for a playdate and making the cutest kid EVER! Love your guts :)

Tea Time

Now I am not much of a tea person but I have discovered a delicious tea you should all try; well actually Mike discovered it and made me try it. If any of you have been to the Sanctuary Day Spa, they serve it there, and it's the best tea I have ever had. It's made by Aveda and it's called Comforting Tea. It's only made of 4 ingredients (basil, licorice, fennel and peppermint) and has no caffeine or sugar. I know it seems like strange ingredients and I normally HATE licorice, but you can't taste it at all and it is very soothing. It's a bit expensive ($14.00 for 20 bags) but completely worth it and it's available online or at any Sanctuary Day Spa in both bags and loose leaf. Mike and I have thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the deck on Sundays, sipping this wonderful tea while enjoying the end of summer and I think you will enjoy it too!

Tales from the Employed!

It's official, I am rejoining the workforce. Today I accepted a position at Fidelity Investments as the Executive Secretary for the Life Insurance Division. I have been dreaming of working at Fidelity for years and I am thrilled to be working in the same building as my mom and many other family friends.

This was a difficult decision because I was fully planning on accepting a position at the MS Society as their volunteer coordinator when this offer came out of the blue. I was honored the MS Society was considering me for such an important roll and was devastated when I had to turn them down. Mike and I had a very long conversation about the pros and cons of both positions, I had many back and forth moments and I lost a lot of sleep about it. In the end, my heart of hearts told me Fidelity was the right decision for us, and while the decision was bittersweet, I am very excited to embark on this new adventure.

My first day will be October 4 so I still have a few weeks to myself. I have been keeping extremely busy with The Sharing Place's annual Colors of Life fundraiser, as well as organizing my basement, going toe to toe with my CPA over an unfair and outlandish charge (which I won by the way), and tying up all the loose ends of our lives. This two month break has been the best thing I have ever done for myself and I am excited to get back into an 8-5 day! I will miss the Price is Right and my pajamas though. :)
