06.16.07

I had an amazing photographer and I love the emotion that these photos evoke.  After 4 years of working on this album with my photographer Tiffanie, we finally received the final product on our anniversary last year.  I still completely love it and I finally figured out how to upload the album pages to my blog so figured since it was just our anniversary, I thought it was a good time to post it.  We really did have the most incredible wedding and I am so glad we can remember all of the amazing moments thanks to technology.  I especially love that we included the lyrics to the song I walked down the aisle to, our wedding vows and the lyrics of the Sigma Chi Sweetheart song.

While I may have figured out how to upload the pictures, I haven't figured out how to remove the Copyright water mark so just pretend it's not there :)

5 years...

5 years ago I said "I do" to my best friend and 5 years later, I love him more than the day I married him. We have been faced with some trials, have experienced some amazing places together, have grown to appreciate the other person more than we ever thought possible and have fallen more in love with each other with each passing day. While this year has been full of heartache as we have tried to bring Baby Ricci into this world, this difficult time has actually brought us closer together and strengthened our unbreakable bond. We truly know that the past 5 years of laughter, pain, friendship, experiences and memories has deepened our love for one another and we have become a better couple, better individuals and will be better parents because of the time we have been able to spend together and the hardships we have overcome as one. I really love this man and feel blessed to know that each day I wake up is another day I get to spend with him. Love is truly an amazing thing...

For our 5 year anniversary, Mike went over and beyond and it was by far the best anniversary we have ever had. We spent the day in Midway just enjoying the beautiful scenery and one another and the night at the Zermatt spa. We discovered the small town of Midway, ate at a delicious Mexican restaurant Tarahumara, took a ride up the canyon into the Wasatch Mountains where we decided we want to own a cabin someday and watched our wedding video, a tradition we started on our first anniversary. We then spent Sunday on the Homestead golf course and while I played horribly, I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else. It was nice to have some time just being us and we couldn't have asked for a better anniversary. We are looking forward to many more years, memories and anniversaries together and look forward to what year 5 has to bring...

For some reason I was obsessed with these and they were everywhere!

I love looking at these photos and remembering the bliss we had as we became husband and wife.  It really was a perfect day.

Blog Fail...

Lately I have been BUSY.  Somehow I went down to one job, took a volunteering sabbatical and deleted Facebook and still have no time to blog. Now don't get me wrong, I am not complaining that I don't have time to blog because I have been doing super fun things such as celebrating our 5 year anniversary in beautiful Midway, going camping with some of my favorite peeps, watching sweet Avaya, some fun girl dinners and spending a lot of time in the sun by golfing and taking advantage of the long evenings .  We also have done some not-so-fun things like powerwashing and organizing the garage as well as yardwork and finishing some projects.  I recently also just took on an additonal role at work so my days at work are extra full, but I am really enjoying the new challenge.  I really want to be better about documenting our life together so I don't forget, so hopefully I get more time and motivation to blog, but beware, some really old events may be making their way onto the blog soon.  In the meantime, I leave you with a iPhone pic from our perfect 5 year anniversary, as well as the incredible 5 year anniversary/can't have a baby gift my incredibily generous and loving husband gave to me.  I really am so lucky to share my life with such an amazing man, have wonderful, supportive and thoughtful friends and a job that enriches my life and challenges me each day.

After some problems with my original ring and a raving review from Mike's brother Steven about how great Shane Company is, we went there and I fell in love with this wedding set.  We bought it in April, but Mike wouldn't let me have it until June 16th, which is the day we said I do 5 years ago.  Even though it's a new setting, it's still the diamond Mike proposed with and I really am in love... both with my new ring and mah amazing be.  Life is pretty amazing right now.
P.S. Mike bought me a Coach purse for my birthday and we noticed a few weeks ago that the leather was wearing on the bottom of it.  We stopped by the Coach outlet on our way to Midway to see if there was a way to fix it and instead of trying to sell me a leather care kit or a new bag, they instead just exchanged my purse for a brand new one.  Such awesome customer service and I left feeling like a valued and important customer.  A good brand really does go a long way and I am now a Coach customer for life!
Happy weekend everyone!

Some additional bedroom love...

When Mike and I first moved in together, he had the most AMAZING sheets he had purchased from Overstock.com. They were one of his first big purchases after getting his job at ATK, were 1,000 threadcount and made getting out of bed quite the task. Well after a few moves and a few years, we decided that they weren't the white they used to be and we needed to replace them. We looked high and low for years buying everything from bamboo to silk to cotton and a million things in between, but nothing ever matched up to the softness the first sheets encompassed. About a year ago I found some awesome sheets at Pottery Barn and we thought our search was over. They were super soft, extremely comfortable and I loved the bright white they added to the room. The only downside to them was they were slightly smaller than our bed (which is weird because we have a king and that was the size we bought) so we were always fighting for sheets and when I made the bed, I could only tuck it into one side. Plus they wrinkled super easily so they never felt fresh after the first night's sleep following a wash. Well a few weeks ago we were at our favorite place, Costco, and as we were perusing the aisles, I stopped at a bedding road show. I always feel sheets so I didn't think I would be blown away, but I instantly fell in love with these...

They are by Jennifer Adams Home and are seriously uh-mazing!!! They are microfiber, have a fantastic stretch and don't wrinkle at all. They really are incredible and I am so thrilled with our purchase. They are pricey online, but we got them for $130.00 and the Costco guarantee! If you are looking for new sheets, I highly recommend.

Below is the link of all of the road shows of Jennifer Adams.

I have also been looking for and pining for a vanity for our bedroom. I always sit on the floor to blow-dry my hair, leave my make-up everywhere (to Mike's chagrin), and our bathroom vanity is cluttered with my stuff. Well I finally found a vanity that I think will go perfectly in our bedroom. I purchased it via Amazon.com for get this $225 with free 2 day shipping AND free return shipping if needed! It was such a steal I had to buy it. It should arrive early next week and hopefully it's as great in person as it is online. I can't wait to have my own girlie space :)

On another note, as I was downloading some pictures I found this picture of Mike and I at an event I worked for Fidelity. I have one sexy hubby and am one lucky laday!

A few things that made me smile...

It's been a good week full of a lot of smiles thanks to my wonderful friends and family.  Here are a few of the things that made me smile this week...

My mom surprised me with these gorgeous straight from her garden peonies and they are stunning.  They are now by my bed so I can smell them when I go to bed and when I wake up.

Watching this sweet little laday.  She is getting so big and has started to jabber and crawl.  The time with her goes too fast and I can't wait until we have one of our own to share every day with.

So You Think You Can Dance is back.  Enough said.  Next week SLC auditions!

My surprise shopping trip with Miguel to Express in which I found these...
 and these...
 and these...

and these...

and this...

and even better, all on SALE. Plus with my coupon and a few gift cards, I walked out only spending $20.00. SOLD!

My favorite new perfume from Anthropologie finally came and I am in love.  Thanks Ashley for the recommendation and for being my peony mind twin.

My monthly bunco took place on my best friend Annie's birthday so I was happy I was able to spend the night with her and some of my favorite girls and spoil her with bundtinis and peonies.  Bunco really is one of my favorite nights of the month and I am so glad I accepted a spot in the coveted bunco group three years ago.  Seriously if you don't play, DO!

Mike had to work the weekend so he took me out to Olive Garden on Sunday when he got home.  I just love that man and spending time with him is the best.

Life really is good right now and even though we are still babyless, I feel so lucky to live the life I live, love the man I am married to, enjoy my job and have the opportunities we have because we don't have little ones.  Don't get me wrong, I would give every trip we have ever been to be a mama, but since parenthod hasn't happened yet, I am trying to enjoy every minute we have together.  In fact, we are celebrating 5 years next Saturday and I can't wait to celebrate our love with mah be.  That's another post to come but I am so excited, especially for my exciting and undeserved but amazing anniversary gift that's coming.  Glad to finally be back in the blogging mood!  Maybe more posts are on their way...
